Carolina Panthers Preseason Game 1 Recap

Charlotte, NC– Wednesday night the Carolina Panthers kicked off the 2017 preseason against the Houston Texans. It is only the second time in franchise history that the two teams have met in the preseason. All eyes were on the prize pick of the draft, Christian McCaffrey. Although it is preseason and it was only game 1, McCaffrey did a little less then impress. The panthers second offensive play of the game was a hand off to McCaffrey for a 2-yard run. McCaffrey’s second touch of the night and his best was a 12-yard run. He finished the night off 7 carries for 33 yards. Fans may have showed up excited to see McCaffrey, but they left intrigued by Damiere Byrd. Byrd found the end zone twice, both off passes from third string quarterback Joe Webb. Byrd finished the night with 4 receptions for 98 yards.
